18.-21.03.2018 BERMAGUI/COOLAGOLITE
I arrived in Naroomba at about 7pm, where Joshua picked me up. We got some groceries and then drove to his cabin in the woods of Coolagolite (I think that’s what it was called), which is solar-powered, has a shower about 40m away from the main cabin and a toilet about 100m away.
It was a seriously great place to stay for some time, I really liked being in the middle of nowhere for a while.
Joshua himself took some time to get used to as well, but he’s a really good guy all together. I helped him out with carrying stuff from time to time since he broke his arm pretty badly 5 months ago and still had a cast.
When waking up the next morning, I heard about the bushfire that took 70 houses in Tathra, a village not far from us. Joshua cleaned out the attic and got old stuff from his parents and siblings to give the now homeless inhabitants of Tathra, as well as some cutlery, plates and bowls. We spent the whole morning doing laundry and dishes before bringing the goods to Tathra.
Later, his temporary housemate/WWOOFer/Jess came home from her weekend off and we went for a drive together to the namba waterfalls. The scenery was pretty amazing and the water simply perfect for swimming.

Afterwards, we explored the area with Joshua’s truck which doesn’t give a damn about anything in the way, be it a log as thick as my thigh or a river running through the street. We then stopped at his sister’s house for coffee and spent the evening at the cabin chatting and cooking.
I slept in the next morning, while Joshua and Jess were working, then I helped Joshua move some logs on a site he wants to build another cabin on while Jess went to town. We met up with a friend of Jess’, Sunita and together, we went to Bermagui for lunch – I had a really good chickpea-sandwich with salad. 😀

After lunch, we all went to see the “Blue Pool” together- It was a nice view but also extremely windy, however I loved it anyways. We then walked along an almost dried-out creek just beneath the cabin for an hour or so, while Joshua told us stories about the area and growing up there.

The next morning, Joshua dropped me off in Colbaro and I went on to Eden.
