Ulladulla

14.-18.03.2018 ULLADULLA

Brendan, my next host, told me to meet him at the Pizza Place he’s a manager of in Milton and we then drove to Ulladulla together. We were staying at his sisters house with her big sooky (aussie word for attention craving) dog and the 3 cats, since he was house-sitting for her. After he finished work (and came home with a delicious pizza) we talked about basically everything under the sun, we discovered that our taste in music is quite similar and simply got along really really well in general.

First evening, pizza n’ beer (note the difference in the amount of empty bottles)

In the morning, we went for a swim and Brendan let me catch a wave on his surfboard (he pushed me onto it and all I had to do was not fall off), then he had to leave for work. To avoid me getting bored, he set me up with one of his friends, a seriously amazing girl called Hannah, who will be visiting Europe at the end of May – it’d be so great if I were to see her again then! Brendan then came home with some great pizza again and we stayed up talking, listening to great music and playing with the dog.

We went for a swim again first thing in the morning and afterwards I was simply walking around Ulladulla (such a pretty neighbourhood) and chilling on the beach, even tried to start reading “The Exorcist” – however after some pages, I decided it wasn’t for me at that moment.

The next day we went for a swim again (wow it’s getting predictable, isn’t it?) and got some amazing coffee. I actually cooked some proper lunch for once and otherwise chilled at the beach and started reading “Inferno” – I absolutely love it, it was a version with thorough commentary so I even understand what he was talking about.

Some nice views of Ulladulla:

Since it coincidentally was Bredan’s birthday that day, he had some people over in the evening and it was seriously just fantastic, Hannah was there as well and another girl, Sarah, gifted me her bracelet made from recylcled plastics from the ocean. She explained to me that it was part of the “take 3 for the sea” initiative and I could see that it meant a lot to her to give it to me <3

At about 5:30 Brendan, Sarah and me went to the harbour to watch the sun rise, it was magical. After about an hour of sleep, Sarah and her boyfriend took me to the beach, along with their beautiful dog Loki, who loves to be piggybacked (:::).

I then had to leave for Bermagui, but not before a proper goodbye with the darling dog.
